What is Microdermabrasion? Microdermabrasion is a type of facial treatment that uses a diamond tip suction wand to treat dry dead skin, acne, clogged pores, fine lines, and uneven skin tone. The diamond tip exfoliates the top layers of skin as the suction removes the dead skin. It leaves clients with clearer, more even, and youthful-looking skin.
Who’s it for? Everyone can benefit from this treatment! Especially those who cannot have laser treatments done due to skin tone and/or health issues.
For the best outcome: Microdermabrasion treatments are recommended every 4-6 weeks as a deep clean and exfoliation for your skin.
We welcome Microdermabrasion patients who live in West Vancouver and all surrounding areas like North Vancouver, Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, etc in British Columbia. Give us a call at (778) 323-4562 to make your appointment at Mona Beauty Co and learn more about the benefits of microdermabrasion!

- No fake tanning or extreme sun exposure at least one day before treatment.

- May experience some redness.
- No direct sun exposure for 2 days post-treatment.
- Rain or shine, always apply your SPF.
- Avoid using skincare products with active ingredients for 3 days post-treatment.
Microdermabrasion is considered safe for all skin types and is appropriate for Asian and dark-skinned patients who may be at risk for skin discoloration with other types of treatment. There are no serious risks associated with microdermabrasion, although some patients experience mild redness and irritation after treatment, and patients older than 70 may have a slightly escalated risk of bruising and skin abrasions. Avoiding sun exposure after microdermabrasion is important because some of the skin’s natural protection may be removed during treatment.
In patients who have a history of cold sores, undergoing microdermabrasion may reactivate the virus that causes them. In those cases, avoiding treatment around the lip area and/or taking preventative antiviral medication prior to treatment may be recommended.
Microdermabrasion is a safe facial treatment, noninvasive procedure that’s beneficial for all different skin types and conditions. Anyone who is unhappy with their skin texture or has trouble areas like sun damage or acne scarring are perfect candidates for microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion should not be confused with dermabrasion, which is an invasive surgical procedure typically performed by dermatologists or plastic surgeons under local or general anesthesia. Microdermabrasion is non-invasive and requires no numbing gels or medicines.
The treated area will be pink and feel dry and tight for about 24 hours. The feeling is similar to sunburn or windburn. You can use a moisturizer, but some types of makeup shouldn’t be applied until 24 hours after the procedure. Your aesthetician will advise you on the best skincare products
We use Pristine technology for a fully customizable, clean, and aesthetic treatment experience that is relaxing, enjoyable, and delivers visible results from the very first treatment. This allows us to provide some of the best microdermabrasion in West Vancouver BC.

With Microdermabrasion, there is virtually no downtime whatsoever. The treated area may be red, dry and tight (similar to a mild sunburn) but will subside within 24hrs. You will be able to return to your day’s activities immediately after your session. As always, SPF is a must when exposed to the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays, especially after a Microdermabrasion treatment as the skin will be extra sensitive. It is best to avoid direct sun exposure for 2 days post treatment. Avoid use of skincare products that contain active ingredients such as Retin-A, Retinol, exfoliating acids or any other harsh cleansers or scrubs.
